To all blog masters and students of HNM training,
If you’re using WordPress like me, then you must have heard about a plugin called KeywordLuv. But if you searched for it in the WordPress plugin section, you’ll come up with nothing.
WordPress, for some reason, has delisted this powerful plugin not too long ago and everyone was dissapointed waiting for an updated version to be listed back up again in their plugin directory, BUT it never did. I have no idea why?!
Significance of KeywordLuv
KeywordLuv is basically a small but VERY POWERFUL plugin which allows visitors to comment on your blog but instead of the usual way of leaving their names in the Name box with a @, joining the their name and keywords together, they now have the ability to split their name from the keywords.
EXAMPLE:
Usually they would enter their name in this manner nancy@theblogpost.com, their names will appear like
Nancy@the blog post says: (without keywordluv)
Instead of
Nancy from the blog post says: (with keywordluv)
Notice, the name Nancy is now no longer part of the keywords! This is what you want and this is what Google likes to see as well.
Is this important? You bet! When Google sends its robot for indexing on those pages where you have commented on, they’ll be looking for something called an anchor text. This simply means, your keywords are linked to your blog’s url. There is no reason why your name should be adjoining the keywords. Your keywords are being ranked, NOT your name.
How To Install KeywordLuv Plugin (Step-by-Step)
Installation is simple, thanks to Stephen Cronin. (The inventor of the KeywordLuv plugin).
STEP 1: Download KeywordLuv plugin. (Make sure your DoFollow plugin is activated. Without it, this won’t work.)
STEP 2: Save it on your hard drive and name the folder plugins.
STEP 3: Login to your WordPress dashboard.
STEP 4: From the Plugins section (on your left pane), click and select Add New.
STEP 5: At the top of the Plugins page select Upload.
STEP 6: Browse where you saved the downloaded plugin a while ago and click Install Now.
STEP 7: Once installed, you must activate it. Once activated, you’re good to go.
That’s it. To view the effects of your newly installed plugin, logout and in a new window, open your url. You should see the words:-
This site uses KeywordLuv. Enter YourName@YourKeywords in the Name field to take advantage.
Now when someone comes to your blog and reads your post, and they decide to reply, their names will be separated from their keywords. This will improve rankings for your visitors site and therefore it will give them more reason to visit your blog often and comment on your posts.
