Add Product Links From Magazine.com

Hi guys and gals of the blogosphere,

Some of you maybe wondering how to insert product links from Magazine.com and insert in your blog. You’ve waited patiently for my reply and I thank you sincerely.

Actually, I was testing a new software to create video intro’s and my whole system crashed! Yeah…I know! Luckily I always backed up my work and saved important files and doc’s in an external drive. Phew!

Anway, instead of having to write the steps and show you screenshots, I thought why not create video tutorials instead. It’s easier for you to see me doing it rather than reading the steps.

Here it is…

Part 1-Get Product Links From Magazine.com

Now that you’ve got the html linking code, all you have to do is login to your blog admin (dashboard) and insert it in the widgets section.

The following video shows the steps.

Part 2- Embed HTML Code from Magazine.com into WordPress

Any feedbacks? I’d love to hear from you.

Keyword Gem Outperforms Google Adwords Tool!

Dear fellow Online Marketers,

Would you believe if I told you Google Adwords Tool is useless? You see, I knew something was amiss the moment they launched their new Google Adwords Tools Beta 3.0 version recently.

I mean why suddenly change the overall look and feel and features of a tool which has been around working perfectly for more than 5 years now?

Here is what else I’ve been experiencing lately with the newly relaunched Adwords Tool and I didn’t like the results I was getting!!!

You see, as a  pro Niche Marketer, I have to rely strongly on using the right Keyword tools to conduct my research and just like thousands of other marketers in the world, I was to a certain extent dependent upon Google’s Adwords Tool.

Now, if you have been doing keyword research for any period of time, you will agree with me that in order to find profitable keywords, one must be able to go deep within a niche and locate the right keywords which have a high search volume and a low competition.

So, ever since Google came up with the new version of Adwords Tool, here is what I’ve been experiencing:-

  • INSUFFICIENT number of quality keywords
  • A DECREASE in the overall number of keywords shown
  • INABILITY to go deep and locate profitable, high demand, low competition keywords.

And, this wasn’t good for my niche blog business!

So, when  Todd Perk  came up with his latest Keyword Research software, and when I saw what it could really do, I immediately jumped out of my seat in excitement (literally!!!) and gave the software a test run.

Honestly! I was AMAZED and SHOCKED with the results!

VS

In one of the keyword researches I did, I compared the results side by side with both tools (Adwords Tools vs Keyword Gem – KG)  and here is what I discovered:-

  1. KG showed me 372 more keywords than Google Adwords tool
  2. KG displayed some of the most profitable keywords which were NOT even disclosed by Google Adwords Tool
  3. KG located some of the keywords which I could never even have even imagined existed in the first place.

Listen! you don’t have to believe me. I’d rather you go see the results for yourself and then decide whether what i’m saying makes sense!

Todd has put together an amazing video on his site which shows you the FACTS and FIGURES in real-time where he actually takes a keyword and puts to test both tools. Yup the video is FREE. Go watch it now!.

Click here or on the video image below to view real-life PROOF of how KG tool outperformed and beat Google Adwords Tool flat out!

(by clicking on the image above, a new screen will open in your browser)

If you have tested Todd’s keyword research tool, do post some comments here sharing with the me and the readers of your experience.  I would appreciate it. Thanks!

To your keyword research success,

Significance of KeywordLuv and How To Install.

To all blog masters and students of HNM training,

If you’re using WordPress like me, then you must have heard about a plugin called KeywordLuv. But if you searched for it in the WordPress plugin section, you’ll come up with nothing.

WordPress, for some reason, has delisted this powerful plugin not too long ago and everyone was dissapointed waiting for an updated version to be listed back up again in their plugin directory, BUT it never did. I have no idea why?!

Significance of KeywordLuv

KeywordLuv is basically a small but VERY POWERFUL plugin which allows visitors to comment on your blog but instead of the usual way of leaving their names in the Name box with a @, joining the their name and keywords together, they now have the ability to split their name from the keywords.

EXAMPLE:
Usually they would enter their name in this manner nancy@theblogpost.com, their names will appear like

Nancy@the blog post says: (without keywordluv)

Instead of

Nancy from the blog post says:   (with keywordluv)

Notice, the name Nancy is now no longer part of the keywords! This is what you want and this is what Google likes to see as well.

Is this important?
You bet! When Google sends its robot for indexing on those pages where you have commented on, they’ll be looking for something called an anchor text. This simply means, your keywords are linked to your blog’s url. There is no reason why your name should be adjoining the keywords. Your keywords are being ranked, NOT your name.

How To Install KeywordLuv Plugin (Step-by-Step)

Installation is simple, thanks to Stephen Cronin. (The inventor of the KeywordLuv plugin).

STEP 1: Download KeywordLuv plugin. (Make sure your DoFollow plugin is activated. Without it, this won’t work.)

STEP 2: Save it on your hard drive and name the folder plugins.

STEP 3: Login to your WordPress dashboard.

STEP 4:
From the Plugins section (on your left pane), click and select Add New.

STEP 5:
At the top of the Plugins page select Upload.

STEP 6:
Browse where you saved the downloaded plugin a while ago and click Install Now.

STEP 7:
Once installed, you must activate it. Once activated, you’re good to go.

That’s it. To view the effects of your newly installed plugin, logout and in a new window, open your url. You should see the words:-

This site uses KeywordLuv. Enter YourName@YourKeywords in the Name field to take advantage.

Now when someone comes to your blog and reads your post, and they decide to reply, their names will be separated from their keywords. This will improve rankings for your visitors site and therefore it will give them more reason to visit your blog often and comment on your posts.

Regards,

A Aaron

Article Rewrite Softwares: Do They Really Work?

Before I answer the question,  I’d like to apologize to all the article rewrite and  content rewrite software developers for blurting out the truth! I’ve had enough if *B.S* about automated systems that can do a job of a human. Anyway, this is NOT a deliberate attempt to undermine anyone in particular. I love you all. I just wanted to share my honest opinion.

Being an Internet marketer for so long (since 2004), I’ve tried various tools and softwares that would, presumably, make my life easier and give me more time to do other important tasks. Basically, I didn’t want to be ‘bogged down’ with repetitive and boring work such as content and article writing.

So, I began scouting around for an easy way out. Downloading artice rewriting tools.

Side Note : All those of you who are still scouting around for the ‘perfect’ article rewriter, DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY until you’ve finished reading  this entire post!!!

So, to answer the question, “Do these tools work? The answer is NO! Let me explain why…

1) Google Is Very Strict When It Comes To Duplicate Content

Since, more and more people have become dependent on computers, technology and the Internet and,  many more have begun jumping on the ‘make money from the Internet’ bandwagon, as a result, a lot of ‘rubbish’ has been spreading on the Information Super-highway over the last few years!

My main point when saying this is, you’ll find lots and lots of irrelevant, unrelated, untargeted, content either in blog posts, website homepages, article directories etc. And this is not a good thing. People may STOP depending someday on the the Internet for information sourcing due to these factors.

Google Logo

Did you also know, Google is very particular when it comes to copywright laws, plageurism, and duplicate content?

How do I know this? It’s clealy stated in its Webmaster Guidelines.

But even from my own personal experience, during my initial years of marketing online, I used to make things easy for myself by bluntly coying content from EzineArticles.com and pasting them in my websites and blogs. Yup! Just like that! (Shh…some of the sites are still live on the Net) But what I realised is, the search rankings for most of my sites began to drop.

At one point, I was ranked No.1 and then…all of a sudden…. **BHOOM…No. 29,456. I mean literally the rankings dropped and my sites were no where to be seen. Not on the 1st page, not even on the 2nd page, heck…not even on the 3rd page. That’s when I realised, something was wrong.

BECAREFULL!!! Today, with the advancement in technology, Google has the ability to simply identify duplicate content within seconds upon you publishing your website or blog. Google TOTALLY dislikes duplicate content!

Some article rewrite programmers say, their tools can can churn close to 95% uniqueness, I say bravo! BUT Google wants 100%!!!

(Content uniqueness is a measurement of how unique is a rewritten content compared to the original source and is measured in percentage %)

2) Are You Writing For Humans or Robots?

So, after scouting around for a while, I was tempted to try out a few of these tools. So, I went ahead and bought a few hoping it will help me save time and generate unique content automatically! Boy…was I in for a surprise!

In the end, after trying them all (sorry, i won’t mention specific product names), neither of them worked to my expectation. On the reverse, I ended up spending more time figuring out the confusing features of the softwares and was totally dissapointed with the results! I even returned a few of them back and claimed a full  refund!

Guys! and gals! bloggers and webmasters…whom are you writing your content for? Robots or humans? Think about it! For humans of course. Ask yourself, how would you feel if you found a blog which promised you a solution to a problem and when you visited the site, NONE of the content made sense to you.

So, the bottomline is, I still ended up spending more time  proof-reading, re-editing and making sure the article or content was humanly readable and made sense.

3) The Best Article Rewriting Software Is….

YOU! I mean your mind and brainlah! What can beat a brain? Especially when it comes to writing speech content. What the heck is ‘speech content’?  Writing what you feel, think and speak. How can a computer program, think feel and speak like a human would?! You know the answer to that.

So, I’ve TOTALLY abandoned these softwares now and rely heavily on myself and my brain. BUT here is what I can suggest and it won’t cost you a dime…it’s totally FREE!

There is a tool in the market (which I’m currently using and I think is one of the best out there!), you can use it to generate truly unique content. It’s called WordWeb. Here are just some of its features:-

  • Definitions and synonyms
  • Related words
  • 5000 audio pronunciations
  • 65 000 text pronunciations
  • 150 000 root words
  • 120 000 synonym sets
  • Look up words in almost any program

Here is a screenshot:-

To download your FREE copy, simply click the link at the bottom and follow the onscreen instructions. Once downloaded, you don’t need to be online to use this tool, it works even when you’re offline too.

Download WordWeb>> http://wordweb.info/cgi-bin/geoip/wordweb.exe

I even managed to find a YouTube video showing you some of the basics on how to use this marvellous dictionary.

Any comments? I’d love to hear from you.

Best of luck in your online endeavours!

What Are The Google Webmaster Guidelines

Google webmaster guidelines was put together to educate webmasters and anyone building and designing websites or blogs about how to create these websites that meet Google’s standards.

From my observation, in the last few years, it has become more and more difficult to rank blogs or websites high up on the search engines for a given keyword phrase using purely SEO (search engine optimization) techniques.

From what is known, Google has been hiring some of the best SEO experts and programmers at its HQ to program and constantly update its engine’s algorithms which is responsible for ranking websites and blogs.  What is the reason for this humungus effort? Simple! “When you type a search term in the Google search box, Google wants to give you ‘near to exact results’ based on the keyword you typed!”

This, I think is one of the greatest efforts being embarked by the world’s largest search engine. Smaller search engines like Yahoo.com, MSN.com, Bing.com etc eventually will or should I say, have begun to follow in the same direction. “When the BIG boys play, everyone gets excites!”

As far as the user experience is concern, Google will definitely outperform and outrank any other search engine out there because it simply wants to achieve one goal, which is  “to give the highest satisfaction in terms of search results, to the online community.”

Below, I have listed all the webmaster guidelines Google has set recently (split into 3 subsections). I would strongly suggest for you to follow these guidelines when creating your websites or blogs if you’re concern of positioning it high up on the search engines.

1) Design and content guidelines
2) Technical guidelines
3) Quality guidelines

Google suggests, IF you’re unable or don’t wish to follow all it’s guidelines, the least you should implement is its Quality guidelines.

When you have created your website or blog:

  • Submit it to Google at http://www.google.com/addurl.html.
  • Submit a Sitemap using the Google Webmaster Tools. Google uses your Sitemap to learn about the structure of your site and to increase it’s coverage of your webpages. But if you’ve setup WordPress.org on your domain, you can use the sitemap.xml plugin to create a sitemap of your blog automatically. It’s much easier.
  • And lastly, inform other webmasters you’re planning to link to from your blog and tell them when your blog will be launched on the Net.

Design & Content Guidelines

  • Make a site with a clear hierarchy and text links. Every page should be reachable from at least one static text link.
  • Offer a site map to your users with links that point to the important parts of your site. If the site map is larger than 100 or so links, you may want to break the site map into separate pages.
  • Create a useful, information-rich site, and write pages that clearly and accurately describe your content.
  • Think about the words users would type to find your pages, and make sure that your site actually includes those words within it.
  • Try to use text instead of images to display important names, content, or links. The Google crawler doesn’t recognize text contained in images. If you must use images for textual content, consider using the “ALT” attribute to include a few words of descriptive text.
  • Make sure that your <title> elements and ALT attributes are descriptive and accurate.
  • Check for broken links and correct HTML.
  • If you decide to use dynamic pages (i.e., the URL contains a “?” character), be aware that not every search engine spider crawls dynamic pages as well as static pages. It helps to keep the parameters short and the number of them few.
  • Keep the links on a given page to a reasonable number (fewer than 100).
  • Review Google’s Image guidelines for best practices on publishing images.

Technical Guidelines

  • Use a text browser such as Lynx to examine your site, because most search engine spiders see your site much as Lynx would. If fancy features such as JavaScript, cookies, session IDs, frames, DHTML, or Flash keep you from seeing all of your site in a text browser, then search engine spiders may have trouble crawling your site.
  • Allow search bots to crawl your sites without session IDs or arguments that track their path through the site. These techniques are useful for tracking individual user behavior, but the access pattern of bots is entirely different. Using these techniques may result in incomplete indexing of your site, as bots may not be able to eliminate URLs that look different but actually point to the same page.
  • Make sure your web server supports the If-Modified-Since HTTP header. This feature allows your web server to tell Google whether your content has changed since we last crawled your site. Supporting this feature saves you bandwidth and overhead.
  • Make use of the robots.txt file on your web server. This file tells crawlers which directories can or cannot be crawled. Make sure it’s current for your site so that you don’t accidentally block the Googlebot crawler. Visit http://www.robotstxt.org/faq.html to learn how to instruct robots when they visit your site. You can test your robots.txt file to make sure you’re using it correctly with the robots.txt analysis tool available in Google Webmaster Tools.
  • If your company buys a content management system, make sure that the system creates pages and links that search engines can crawl.
  • Use robots.txt to prevent crawling of search results pages or other auto-generated pages that don’t add much value for users coming from search engines.
  • Test your site to make sure that it appears correctly in different browsers.
  • Monitor your site’s performance and optimize load times. Google’s goal is to provide users with the most relevant results and a great user experience. Fast sites increase user satisfaction and improve the overall quality of the web (especially for those users with slow Internet connections), and we hope that as webmasters improve their sites, the overall speed of the web will improve.Google strongly recommends that all webmasters regularly monitor site performance using Page Speed, YSlow, WebPagetest, or other tools. For more information, tools, and resources, see Let’s Make The Web Faster. In addition, the Site Performance tool in Webmaster Tools shows the speed of your website as experienced by users around the world.

Quality Guidelines

These quality guidelines cover the most common forms of deceptive or manipulative behavior, but Google may respond negatively to other misleading practices not listed here (e.g. tricking users by registering misspellings of well-known websites). It’s not safe to assume that just because a specific deceptive technique isn’t included on this page, Google approves of it.

Webmasters who spend their energies upholding the spirit of the basic principles will provide a much better user experience and subsequently enjoy better ranking than those who spend their time looking for loopholes they can exploit.

If you believe that another site is abusing Google’s quality guidelines, please report that site at https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/spamreport. Google prefers developing scalable and automated solutions to problems, so we attempt to minimize hand-to-hand spam fighting. The spam reports we receive are used to create scalable algorithms that recognize and block future spam attempts.

Quality guidelines – basic principles

  • Make pages primarily for users, not for search engines. Don’t deceive your users or present different content to search engines than you display to users, which is commonly referred to as “cloaking.”
  • Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you’d feel comfortable explaining what you’ve done to a website that competes with you. Another useful test is to ask, “Does this help my users? Would I do this if search engines didn’t exist?”
  • Don’t participate in link schemes designed to increase your site’s ranking or PageRank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or “bad neighborhoods” on the web, as your own ranking may be affected adversely by those links.
  • Don’t use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our Terms of Service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold™ that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google.

Quality guidelines – specific guidelines

So by reading, understanding and implementing these guidelines, you are able to meet with Google’s standards and obviously if Google is happy, you should have no problem ranking your website high on Google.

Happy following these guidelines!
