What is HNM?
HNM stands for Hybrid Niche Marketing and it’s an online marketing strategy which uses a combination of niche marketing and ingenious search engine ranking techniques to rank blogs or websites promoting or selling specific products or services on the Internet.
This technique is NOT complicated but is probably underused and is ONLY known by a select few marketers in the world.
Once you’ve mastered these techniques, you will have the ability to research and discover EXACT money-making niches on the Internet.
Generally, if done right, your websites or blogs WILL outperform and beat your competition in terms of rankings, flat out.
To understand how Niche Marketing works, you need to understand the following:-
What Is Niche Marketing?
Niche Marketing is all about marketing to a tight group of people searching for specific products and services in a tightly targeted topic / niche on the Internet!
But, several years ago, if you asked me, what is ‘Niche Marketing’, I would probably answer something like, “haa?!…what?… fish market ?”
Today, I cannot help but apply Niche Marketing strategies in every blog and website I create and publish on the Internet. Having launched close to 200 blogs and websites since 2004, Niche marketing has become second nature to me. Can’t live without it!
Can One Really Make Money From Niche Marketing?
You bet! Last year (2009), was a blast year for me and many of my students.
65% of my blog sites made close to $70,000 in sales volume. Not bad considering I only had to invest less than $300 US dollars in running cost!
How Does Niche Marketing Work?
Let’s say, you have some experience in the travel industry and you want to create a blog on the latest and cheapest travel packages. Upon conducting market and keyword research, you discovered that the keyword ‘travel packages’ is being searched for on Google quite a lot. (550,000 searches a month)
But, when you checked the competition, you found out there is a staggering 28,500,000 websites you’ll be competing against for that keyword. Thats alot right? Right!
DID YOU KNOW?
Budget airline companies like AirAsia amd Virgin Airlines are making their money via Internet! Did you know these companies make anywhere between $100-200 million dollars in revenue and profits each year. (see pdf report). Their entire revenue generating backbones rely heavily upon online reservation systems and the Internet.
So, what’s this figure 28,500,000 mean? The keyword phrase “travel packages” is too competitive!
You definitely don’t want to create a blog around this topic targeting this keyword because not only is it difficult to get top rankings in Google, but you will be competing against BIG airline companies who spend millions of dollars a year in making sure their websites remain on the top 10 of Google rankings. The keyword is too broad, too generic and too competitive.
Can you find a much less competing keyword phrase? Of course! Then, you discovered “sports travel packages” which may not have a very high search volume (only 1,300 searches a month) but in terms of competition, it’s way less competitive (only 8,550 competing websites!)
So, What’s Next?
Setup your blog, prepare the content, create 2-3 profit streams and wallah….launch your blog and see the traffic and money roll in!
